Main

Juqiang Chen 陈居强

I am a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in psycholinguistics and phonetics at The MARCS Institute for Brain, Behaviour and Development, Western Sydney University, starting in 2017 with Prof. Catherine Best, and Dr. Mark Antoniou. My PhD topic is cognitive factors in non-native lexical tone perception and imitation by Mandarin and Vietnamese speakers.

Besides, I have been working with Mark Harvey, Robert Mailhammer, and Micheal Proctor to document and explore phonological and phonetic structures of some endangered aboriginal Australia Languages.

In addtion, I have a long-standing interest in exploring social and stylistic variations in language use with a quantitative approach (e.g., corpus, NLP, text mining).
